- Apakah kita memerlukan air minum dengan mineral?
Tentu saja YA. Mengapa demikian? Hal ini dikarenakan tubuh selalu memerlukan beragam mineral. Menurut World Health Organization (WHO – Badan Kesehatan Dunia di bawah PBB), terdapat 21 elemen mineral yang esensial bagi manusia. Esensial berarti mineal tersebut tidak dapat dibuat oleh tubuh sehingga kita harus mengkonsumsinya dari luar, yaitu dari makanan dan minuman.
Pemenuhan dari satu sumber saja tidak cukup karena makanan yang kita makan sehari-hari saja tidak dapat memberikan 100% mineral yang kita butuhkan. Cara pengolahan dan memasak makanan seringkali menyebabkan mineral tersebut hilang. Oleh karena itu mineral dalam air minum sangat penting untuk memenuhi kebutuhan tubuh. Dan sebaliknya, akan sangat berbahaya jika kita meminum air kosong atau air tanpa mineral.
Berbagai mineral yang terkandung di dalam air minum yang bermanfaat bagi tubuh di antaranya adalah :
- Magnesium dan Kalsium. Bekerja pada sel otot jantung dan pembuluh darah sehingga dapat bersifat protektif bagi kesehatan jantung. Tidak hanya itu, Magnesium dan Kalsium disebutkan dapat membantu mengurangi tekanan darah pada penderita hipertensi.
- Fluorida. Fluorida efektif untuk mencegah karies gigi dan berperan penting dalam pembentukkan lapisan email pada anak-anak
- Natrium. Natrium sangat penting bagi cairan ektra sel. Saat kita beraktivitas dan bekeringat maka Natrium akan dikeluarkan dari tubuh sehingga kita membutuhkan asupan Natrium yang lebih banyak saat beraktivitas
- Tembaga. Berfungsi sebagai antioksidan dan membantu metabolisme besi
- Selenium. Dapat memperbaiki sistem imunitas (kekebalan tubuh) dan elemen penting bagi enzim-enzim yang penting bagi tubuh kita
- Kalium. Penting bagi sistem saraf dan kontraksi otot tubuh serta berperan di dalam keseimbangan elektrolit tubuh bersama dengan Natrium
- Silika. Silika bersama dengan kalsium bermanfaat untuk mencegah keroposnya tulang (osteoporosis) dan memperkokoh jaringan serta peremajaan kulit. Sejak dulu juga silika terkenal sebagai bagian dari zat gizi yang bermanfaat bagi kecantikan. Penelitian terbaru bahkan menunjukkan peran silika di dalam air minum yang dapat mengurangi risiko lansia mengalami penyakit gampang lupa (demensia)
- Zink. Berperan dalam pembentukkan inti sel (DNA) dan protein, perkembangan sel serta turut bekerja dalam 300 enzim manusia. Zink juga sangat penting bagi pertumbuhan, imunitas dan fungsi saraf otak
- Is it true that plastic used in the AQUA gallon packaging is harmful to the body?
It is not true. Plastics used for gallon AQUA have been tested carefully and thoroughly and was declared safe as a drinking container and is not harmful even used repeatedly. The type of plastic used for the packaging is polycarbonates, which indeed has long been used for packaging foods and beverages because it is hygienic and protects food and drink from contamination. This plastics have also been proven to have excellent quality in protecting food and beverages from bacteria, and it has a great role on maintaining public health. Polycarbonate is widely used in food and medical equipment, such as blood oxygenator used to clean the blood and blood vessel disorders. Because its use is extremely flexible, surely polycarbonate has been tested through a variety of in-depth and extensive safety testing, for example by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), the National Japanese Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, or the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ).
In January 2007, after a review by a panel of experts on the scientific data for the last 5 years, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) declared that 'Bisphenol A' which contained in polycarbonate plastics contains no risk to human health at levels found in consumer products. This discovery by the EFSA has also been confirmed by an independent panel of experts both in the United States and Japan. Food Standards Australia New Zealand (The Food of Australia and New Zealand) also have expressed their consent with the EFSA findings. Thus, polycarbonate plastic has been declared safe to be used for packaging of food products by food regulatory authorities in various countries around the world.
EFSA also has determined that 'the daily maximum safe limit' (Tolerable Daily Intake or TDI) for BPA was 50 micrograms / kg body weight per day, and this represents a safe limit for exposure to 'Bisphenol A' during the entire human life. This means that if a person is exposed to levels of bisphenol A under that limit, there will be no negative effects produced even if the person is exposed during his/her lifetime, because the body will not get affected.
EFSA estimates of the potential of an adult exposed to bisphenol A is 1.5 mcg / kg body weight / day based on BPA migration values and estimates of consumption of food and beverage packaging. This figure represents less than 30% of the safe limits mentioned above.
TDI is the same as U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's which refers to the dose for humans would Bisphenol A, 50 micrograms / kg body weight / day, and it is the dose that has no impact on health throughout life continuously.
Specifically, the EFSA has issued a statement in the Journal of the American Medical Association linked with the results of his research. In the statement, EFSA stated that their study found no evidence of a link between BPA with heart disease and type 2 diabetes and cardiac enzyme abnormalities.

- How many product that AQUA have? What are they? What is the difference?
- AQUA has 6 kinds of packaging, they are distinguished by the type and form of packaging and the volume of the contents, namely:
- Glass packaging (cup) 240mL
- Plastic bottle packaging: 330mL, 600ml and 1500mL

- Why is AQUA's price is more expensive than other bottled water products?
